Green light for the Porsche World Expedition

This unique journey will take participants across six different continents and to spectacular fantasy locations – for example, the Serengeti, the holy sites of the Maya in the Andes or the legendary paradise on earth, Shangri-La.

The journey will begin with a group of 20 participants following the trails of indigenous Australians. Taking a classic rally format, participants will depart from the east coast and drive the new #Porsche #cayennes more than 5,000 kilometres across the endless expanse of the outback to Perth.

After nine weeks at sea, the vehicles have arrived in Brisbane

Skill, speed and endurance will be key in each stage. Every second counts during the #tour, which starts from Fraser Island and passes through Birdsville in the Simpson Desert. Dirt roads and a landscape that demands the utmost from the participants – particularly in the desolate vastness of the Red Centre, with its holy sites of Uluru and Kata Tjuta, and the legendary 1,100-kilometre Great Central Road which forms the last leg of the journey to Perth.

After nine weeks at sea, the 440-hp vehicles (Cayenne S: Fuel consumption combined 9.4 – 9.2 l/100 km; CO2 emissions 213 – 209 g/km) have already arrived in Brisbane and have found their first fans in the Gold Coast city. The #cayennes will be the most important companion for the #Porsche fans and customers over the next two weeks – on a trip like no other.
