Count down to 2022 with the ultimate New Year’s Eve house party. For one night of unforgettable festive fun, artists, DJs and performers will host a festival-style take-over of the building, bringing together the best in nightlife from London and beyond.

Partygoers will have the chance to experience and explore unexpected corners of #somersethouse, filled with music, dancing, live performances, #entertainment, #food, drink and much more at every turn. At the centre of the party, guests can skate the night away to their favourite party classics on one of London’s most spectacular ice rinks within Somerset House’s magnificent courtyard, made picture-perfect with its glorious 40ft Christmas tree. As the clock approaches midnight, guests are invited to gather in the courtyard for a surprise spectacle to welcome in the New Year in style. 

As well as incredible DJs to help you dance the night away, this NYE experience promises a joyful new surprise around every corner, with pop-up experiences, games and live performance throughout. Guests making their way around the site will also have the chance to seek out hidden activities including a secret ice-cream bar, ping-pong party, performance art and other unexpected playful delights.

COURTYARD

In the courtyard, you’ll be treated to the sounds of DJ and drag cabaret artist Milk Shandy of the legendary East London LGBTQ+ club Dalston Superstore with an unbeatable mix of pop bangers and crowd favourites, from Whitney Houston to Carly Rae Jepsen.  We also have a set from Lexii, a London based DJ whose unique sets are heavily influenced by 90’s and 00’s RnB, Hip-Hop and Soul, combining House-Pop, Electronic and dance music, and playful fem cees vocals with nods to the percussive sounds of ballroom and Techno.

EAST WING

Rory Phillips, darling of the noughties club scene, curates an indie disco with floor fillers worthy of a night at Trash. cult Sheffield band The Long Blondes, will reunite for the first time in 15 years to spin the best of art-pop nostalgia, ahead of the re-release of their cult debut album by Rough Trade Records in December. There’s something for everyone, as guests are invited to gather round the piano with Later Youth in the East Wing for a raucous singalong to much loved hits from The Strokes to David Bowie.

WEST WING

Manara, a regular monthly host for shows on Rinse FM, NTS and BBC Asian Network is,a favourite in underground club circuits across the world, and Rinse FM’s Grainger, who has become a key fixture in London’s club scene, will bring the house party vibes together with back-to-back mixes of new and nostalgic sounds from Afrobeat and House to Hip-Hop.

DEADHOUSE

Guests will have the rare opportunity to venture into the Deadhouse, the atmospheric crypt beneath Somerset House’s courtyard, which will be re-imagined for NYE as the Karaoke Dungeon, hosted by London’s finest drag stars from Dalston Superstore’s Karaoke Hole.

FOOD & DRINK

To keep guests fuelled throughout the evening, #somersethouse has teamed up with Jonathan Nunn, acclaimed #food writer of the cult publication Vittles, to present a special, one night only festive #food pop-up. Located on Somerset House’s River Terrace with sweeping views over the Thames and Southbank, curated stalls will offer a delicious selection from London's best unsung #food heroes.

If alfresco is a bit chilly for you, London’s ‘pop-up King’ Jimmy Garcia’s cosy Alpine-inspired restaurant Chalet Barragiste is serving up a special New Year’s Eve set menu of warming winter classics, including vegan and vegetarian options. Prebooking is essential.

As the bells approach, guests will come together in the courtyard for a magical midnight spectacle overlooking the ice rink to welcome in the New Year in style. Guests can toast the New Year with a glass of Moët & Chandon #champagne or spiced winter cocktail, whilst soaking up views of the ice rink in comfort and style at the stylish Moët & Chandon Skate Lounge. Chalet Barragiste and Somerset House’s resident café WatchHouse will also be on hand with refreshments along with Moët & Chandon pop-up bars.
