Casalgrande Padana stoneware tiles for Jesolo Lido Beach Villa


The porcelain stoneware tiles from the Pietre di Sardegna Punta Molara collection have been used for the floors of the Jesolo Lido Beach Villa

In Jesolo Lido, in the province of Venice, is the Jesolo Lido Beach Villa. Designed by the JM Architecture firm of Jacopo Mascheroni, the Jesolo Lido Beach Villa is a residential building composed of an above-ground pavilion comprising two independent apartments offering direct access to the beach. 

All the interior and exterior floors have been tiled with stone-effect porcelain stoneware tiles from the Pietre di Sardegna collection by #casalgrandepadana, in the colour Punta Molara and with a natural surface. For the floors indoors, the 90x90 cm and 90x45 cm tiles were used, while for the outdoor paving, the 20 mm-thick 60x60 cm size was used. 

The above-ground pavilion structure, which can be reached from the exterior via a generous stairway surrounded by the vegetation and tiled with Punta Molara ceramic tiles, is organised around a central backbone that extends to the southern edge of the building.

To visual extend the dimension of both the living areas, and to connect the covered terrace with the interior, the façade has been created with floor-to-ceiling door and window frames and sliding doors on the South side. To ensure greater privacy for the sleeping area and the bathrooms, a large part of the building envelope surface has been covered with porcelain stoneware tiles from the ground to the roof, on a ventilated façade system. The North façade is completely opaque, in order to create an acoustic barrier towards the entrance courtyard and the road.

Considering the narrow dimensions of the lot, which allowed for the construction of a building with a maximum width of 11 metres, the only solution able to guarantee direct access to the sea for both apartments was to divide the width of the construction into two equal parts.

Composed of two bedrooms and two bathrooms, the inside of the two apartments were designed with the same specular layout, and furnished symmetrically in exactly the same way. On the south side of the ground, corresponding to the beach side, is a 16-metre infinity pool, positioned on the central axis of the building and the ground.

Positioned at either side of the pool are two identical ‘cababe’ that offer shelter from the sun on hot summer days, as well as extending the concept of independence.

In addition to the above-ground pavilion, the construction is composed of a shared below-ground level, accessible via the flight of steps positioned on the covered terrace on the north side. This area houses a wellness area with a gym, sauna, jacuzzi and cold water tub, an area with an industrial kitchen, a laundry and other areas for guests. The two large below-ground patios at either side of the building guarantee plenty of natural light and offer private outdoor areas for all the parts of the villa.

To guarantee the privacy of the adjoining areas, three sides of the property are surrounded by a hedge, while the side facing the sea has low vegetation, with a transparent glass fence and pedestrian access behind the beach.

On the North part of the ground, a courtyard paved with white gravel, shaded by the existing trees, contains four parking spaces per side, leaving unencumbered the central area that leads to the entrance steps of the apartments.
