The Plight of the Honey Bees

Unfortunately, due to Colony Collapse Disorder*,  bees are disappearing at an alarming rate, putting the future of our #food system at risk. Due to the important role bees play as pollinators, this is dangerous to ecosystems everywhere. Fewer #honeybees mean less of the ingredients we need to make your favorite flavors, such as #rockyroad, #mango or our classic #strawberry.

A Decade of Dedication

This is the 10th Anniversary of the "Häagen-Dazs Loves Honey Bees" initiative. For the past ten years, we’ve been committed to using our resources and expertise to help save our hardest workers. That’s why in 2016, we installed 6-1/2 miles of permanent habitat with a steady #food source, creating a year-round habitat for the bees.

We believe that by using our passion, resources, and allies, we can all come together to save the #honeybees.

*Colony Collapse Disorder is an alarming phenomenon where #honeybees mysteriously desert their hive and die. Researchers do not know the exact cause, but they believe viruses, mites, chemical exposure, and poor nutrition contribute.
