Wendy Bazilian, Doctor of Public Health and Author Unpacks her EssentialPlant-Based Grocery List, Shares Eating Tips that Can Support Better Health
In recent years, certain #food trends like Meatless Mondays and #food Swaps have become mainstays in American culture. But for the most part, it's really easy to get off-track when jumping on board with the latest trend. That's why nutrition expert, Dr. Wendy Bazilian, recommends starting with small shifts toward healthier eating by incorporating more plant-based foods into meals instead of diving head first into a complete diet overhaul. Compared to a typical American diet, a plant-based approach is higher in unsaturated fats and fiber and can contain more vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients, all of which help reduce risk of chronic disease. And this approach can also feel more rewarding, instead of punishing.
Wendy Bazilian, DrPH, nutrition expert, co-author of the new book "Eat Clean, Stay Lean," and author of bestselling, "The SuperFoodsRx Diet" shares how to take simple steps toward eating more plant-based foods without making drastic changes (or giving up meat). Dr. Wendy will shows her essential plant-based grocery list and shares some simple ways to incorporate more of these foods — such as nuts (like walnuts), whole grains, beans, fruits and vegetables – into your diet. Wendy discusses how plant-based does not mean 'no meat' or dairy-free, as well as how you never have to sacrifice flavor with healthy eating.
