ELAV Kitchen & Beer Beer, eatery and design with Pedrali’s furniture

Mornico al Serio, March 2018 – In one of the most characteristic streets of Bergamo’s old town, Città Alta, you can find ELAV Kitchen & Beer, the new #design concept of the brand Independent brewery ELAV which combines craft beer and exclusive cuisine. A place where tradition and evolution are linked, integrating the existing, significant architectural elements with new key elements, such as the “earth” bar, the opening onto a courtyard and the draught beer system.

The founding values of ELAV’s production, such as the link with the territory, the presence of nature and the earth and the continuous research and experimentation, are reinterpreted through a highly scenographic and cosy setting, studied and custom made by project designers #francescaperani architect and #MargStudio (Annalisa Grasselli and Matteo Rota).

In the main room there is an 8 meter long bar constructed using a special cladding in resin mixed with grit and hay, instantly recalling the genuine world of agriculture and craft. At its centre there is a draught beer system that descends from above, seven brushed steel pipes, each used for a specific type of beer. Thanks to a suspended system of galvanised steel pipes that twists following the shape of the reinforced concrete lacunar ceiling, the main room and the intimate dining area are delicately illuminated, offering the customer a warm and homely light.

A theatrical background wall illuminates the restaurant creating a fictitious opening onto a courtyard, where a continuous, walnut coloured boiserie leads the guests into a rural world with its barns and traditional structures, in touch with nature.

For the futuristic venue in Via Solata, the furniture that has been chosen is able to move with great agility between tradition and innovation, as in the case of the #babila chair and the stool designed by Odo Fioravanti and made of wood: they are comfortable and extremely functional. The industrial look of the #arkibase table fits perfectly with the unique and unconventional setting of the location. The dark tones of Pedrali’s furniture and the walnut boiserie dialogue with the surrounding space defining a comfortable, contemporary and dynamic setting.

Functionality, comfort and attention to details: Pedrali’s collections are capable of perfectly interpreting the needs of contemporary restaurants
